THEME WEEKS & MINI-CAMPS
Each week will be filled with a variety of activities and events that revolve around favorite themes. The day will provide a balance of indoor and outdoor adventures, with a mix of creative activities to include camp crafts, field games, dance, cooking, swimming, martial arts, music, games, sports, & more!
Week 1 (June 5-9): Camp Kickoff!: School is out, let’s scream and shout! Help us kickoff camp and have fun, no doubt!

Week 2 (June 12-16): Splish Splash!: It’ll be a wet, wet week as we get wild with water games, water slides, the swimming pool, and keeping cool!

Week 3 (June 19-23): Oooey Gooey!: A week full of muddled messes and goopy goo, when we create some mixes to sink our hands into!

Week 7 (July 17-21): Crazy Carnival!: Come one, come all to our Summer Camp Carnival! We'll have games to play and sweets to eat; this week is sure to be a treat!

Week 8 (July 24-28): Color War!: Break into teams for the fun that’s in store! Awesome challenges, relays, dances, crafts, and more! Remember, the team with the most spirit will win the Color War!

Musical Theater Camp (Instructor Shannon Blust) - $250 per week

In these weeklong workshops students will act, sing, and dance, all in one setting. They will learn important life skills while creating scenes and musical production numbers from our Fall & Spring musicals for 2017 - 2018 school year (musicals will be announced soon!). These workshops will prepare your student for our upcoming auditions for the Lower School Fall Musical & Spring Musical in the 2017-2018 school year. Come join the fun!
Jr. Science Camp (Instructor Matt Masem) - $250 per week
June 5-9 – Grades K-2
Join the most explosive camp at WPS and spend your mornings shooting soda and rockets into the air, playing around with states of matter by making goo and gack, and using scientific principals to make ice cream in a bag and S’mores in a solar oven. All this and more awaits you in Jr. Science Camp!
Jr. Yoga Camp (Instructor Nancie Byrnes) - $200 per week
June 5-9 – Grades K-2
Join the yoga fun! Through yoga poses, games, activities, music and stories, we promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach focus, relaxation and self-control. Every class will be themed on positive thinking, developing strong self-esteem, and finding healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety. When children learn techniques for self- health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life's challenges with a little more ease. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness through a physical activity that's noncompetitive. Nancie Byrnes is a certified yoga instructor.
Canvas Creations Camp (Instructor Jacquie Fleming) - $250 per week
June 12-16 – Grades 2-6
Students in “Canvas Creations” have a chance to get creative on canvas! Students will develop new skills and talents, all while designing fun creations using high-quality materials. Students will learn about mixing paints, brush strokes, and other painting techniques, while creating their own wonderful masterpieces! Each camper will create 2-3 canvas masterpieces as well as his/her very own creatively decorated artist apron. Come join the fun and get painting!
Lego/Robotics Camp (Instructor Matt Masem) - $200 per week
July 17-21 (Programming Week) – Grades 3-6
July 24-28 (Building Week) – Grades 2-6
Enjoy a challenging week of building or programming LEGO robots! The first week, we will be using the Mindstorms EV3 computer language to program them to complete various tasks. Students will complete programming challenges that use sequencing and higher order thinking skills to navigate their robots through real FIRST Lego League competition challenges. The second week will focus on building robots! Come join the fun!
Art, Stories, & Songs Camp (Instructor Tracey Hainsworth) - $250 per week
July 17-21 – Grades K-2
Students will create masterpieces, all while strengthening their ability to create their own art and deepen their understanding of the connections between literature, music, and visual art. Students will think about and explore the richness of stories and how music and visual arts are utilized for expression. Fun guaranteed!
STEM Camp (Instructor Matt Masem) - $200 per week
July 31-August 4 – Grades 3-6
Explore the 4 components of STEM through building and launching rockets, designing bridges made of popsicle sticks that can hold up bricks, design and create a video game, and put math skills to use in challenging puzzles and more!
MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPS
Acting for the Camera (Instructor Cindy Lowa) - $250 per week
June 5-9 – Grades 6-8
Students will have the opportunity to participate in theatre games, acting technique exercises, TV/Film scenes, and commercial scene work. Every student will learn some of the differences and nuances of acting for camera versus acting for the stage. During the camp, all students will present their scenes for a studio-style taping that they can easily put onto an acting reel for professional work. If you have an interest in starting to develop an acting film-reel for gaining a professional talent agent, or just want to work on your acting technique for the camera for fun, then this camp is for you! Ms. Cindy Lowa was an acting instructor for the New York Film Academy for Summer "Acting for Film" Workshops in Orlando at Disney World for 5 years!
Into the Deep Blue Sea Art Camp (Instructor Megg Demko) - $250 per week
June 5-9 – Grades 6-8
Welcome to the beautiful ocean! In this weeklong camp, students will create various art projects involving sea creatures and the beach! We will explore mixed media, painting on wood, sand art, ceramics and more! Jump in and learn how to create mermaids, seahorses, starfish, and more! Don’t miss this fun, creative week!
3D Modeling & Printing (Instructor Jeff Fulmer) - $250 per week
June 5-9 – Grades 6-8
Kick off the summer with exposure and exploration of STEM activities! Learn how to design and create in 3D! Bring your ideas to life and then to print! Come join the fun! This camp will introduce different applications for 3D design along with coding activities from MIT and more. We will create step-by-step models and by the end of camp you will be able to show all your creativity! All aboard for the STEM 3D and Coding Express!
Secret Garden Art Camp (Instructor Megg Demko) - $250 per week
June 12-14 – Grades 6-8
Enjoy creating everything from bees, birds, and butterflies, to garden gnomes and stepping-stones! This class will take artists into the wonder of nature and its creatures. We will explore the use of ceramics, wood, canvas and more! Come join us to take your art skills to the next level! Dig your hands in and join the fun!
Move to Middle School Camp (Instructor Stephanie Loughran) - $250 per week
June 12-14 – Grades 6-8
July 31-August 4 – Grades 6-8
Designed for all incoming Sixth Graders (or any other 7th/8th graders new to Middle School!), this program aims to assist students in the transition to Middle School! Students receive campus tours, laptop set-up, technology demonstrations, e-portfolio instruction, and more! This is truly a program that makes “crossing the bridge” a bit easier!
Engineering Camp (Instructor Jamie Schoenberger) - $250 per week
July 24-28 – Grades 6-8
Who can build the tallest tower? Hit the target in the fastest time? Build the longest Rube Goldberg Machine? Construct the most life-like robotic hand? Create a handheld, moving hologram? This engineering-based science camp will have students pushing themselves to explore and test designs that previously existed only in their imaginations! Come discover the forces and energies that influence our daily lives and are used by scientists and engineers to invent new technologies and to explore the universe around us! Fun guaranteed!
Technology Toolkit (Instructor Justin Shrake) - $250 per week
July 24-28 – Grades 6-8
As 21st century learners, our students are surrounded by a multitude of technological resources. Helping to prepare Middle School students for technology use in Middle School, this program offers an opportunity for students to explore useful applications and programs, as well as an opportunity to develop and hone in on technology skills. This camp will truly help prepare students for everyday technology skills necessary for the Middle School classroom!
Forensics Camp (Instructor Jamie Schoenberger) - $250 per week
July 31-August 4 – Grades 6-8
These newly-appointed crime solvers will have to work together and rely on their investigative skills to figure out- “whodunnit?!” Throughout the week, students will learn crime-solving techniques such as fingerprinting, deductive reasoning, chromatography testing, blood typing, blood spatter study, and chemical analysis. At the end of the week, a ghastly crime scene will greet them on arrival- will they be able to use the techniques they’ve learned in order solve the crime?!
